A fabric can feel different beside a window than it does on a screen. Bring samples into the room and look at them in morning light, afternoon light, and under your usual lamps.
Hold the fabric vertically to get a sense of its drape. Compare it with the wall behind it, and look at it from across the room as well as close up.
Before deciding, ask about the fabric’s care instructions and any proposed lining. A beautiful choice should also suit the practical rhythm of your home.
